I know I’m not alone.
This fear has grown over time, and each time I fly the fear gets worst. This coming week my husband and I are leaving on what will be our first trip in years. He has a work conference out of state, and I decided to tag along. At first, I was super excited. A whole week just me and hubby; no kids. Sleeping in, ordering room service, and watching uninterrupted t.v. I’d be living the dream, at least for a week. But all those warm fuzzy feelings disappeared when it hit me, we’ll have to fly.
Then I started going to a dark place. What if something were to happen to us, who would take care of our kids. I have had to fight those thoughts back. Otherwise, I may not go at all.
I hate feeling this way. And I don’t want my kids to know that I’m worried, and have them inherit my fears. So now I’m trying to do everything to clear my mind, and think about anything else.
You know by writing a post focusing on it 😛
So I don’t have any helpful hints, or advice here. I’m just going to do what I always tell my kids to do; face your fears…and then hopefully enjoy my week too.
My question to all of you is, how do you deal with your fears? And how do you think that affects your child?
